Society – Santam

The main objective of the project was to assess whether there is an opportunity for Santam to sell insurance in Namibia through Social Media (specifically Facebook). To achieve this objective, the short term insurance market in Namibia was analysed from an online perspective.

Our findings indicated that Santam could use the inactivity of insurance companies on social media to their advantage, by becoming the first insurance company in Namibia to use social media to market and sell insurance online. The knowledge and experienced gained from creating a strong, well established online community in South Africa, would stand Santam in good stead in establishing the brand in Namibia online.
